FIFA World Cup Fever Begins!

The FIFA World Cup 2014 just began on this 13th and seems like everyone is surrounded by the fever of supporting their favorite team by displaying flags all over their houses (even though this is not legally allowed) and buying jerseys and what not! You can even look at the photos below how the atmosphere in our area has turned so celebrating as everyone is being competitive in showing the flags of their favorite soccer teams!

Even though most of the supporters are in favor of Brazil and Argentina (the flags says it all), you can also see the flags of Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, England as well!

Needless to say that it's not only me, but also little kids love supporting BRAZIL. For example, I do not know this little guy but when I told him to pose in front of the artwork on the wall, he was really excited and smartly posed for the camera. Looks like the World Cup fever is on the track! :)

Well, as for me, I couldn't stop being an All Time Big BRAZIL fan! The champions scored big on their first match so couldn't keep myself from purchasing my very first Brazil Team jersey! Go on Seleçãos!

Well, let the best team win the World Cup 2014! Who do you think will win?

Technology Classroom Reflection

We were a bit enthusiastic in the last class, as you can see from the photos! Well, we learned much about the technological sides of teaching. Our respected Sir, Mr. Zohur Ahmed illustrated the usage of Wikipedia and introduced us with the ways of using Wikipedia for academic purpose, also we learned how to help other classmates through reading in the group chat! Everyone is our class are teaching professionals (at least most of them and me not being one of them) and there are sure a lot to learn from them. :)

So, yesterday, we actually learned a lot about the academic usefulness of Wikipedia and how it's use is being misunderstood by many teachers. Anyone can write in Wikipedia, it's true, but writing properly using the proper sources and carefully citing them are important too! We cannot simply copy paste an article in Wikipedia and just take the credit of our authorship. I have also learned that we cannot write or post any authentic or original post in Wikipedia, anything we write have to be from a source that has already been published. Seems like I learned a lot.

However, the assignments - that we got to create our own piece of Wiki writing will be a tough one, but I am sure, we will all succeed with our fabulous pieces of writings at the end of our Wikipedia submission! Correct me if I am wrong when all of us will be done, LOL. :)

Third POEM published in RESONANCE Journal!

REJUVENATION OF HUMAN SOULS

Written By : Josephine Roy

In the midst of darkness, where human souls are trapped,
There is no way out, for them to come back
For the world has closed its doors of hope,
Leaving behind the dark sides and failure to cope
An endless time of darkness passes by,
While human souls make their willful try,
Only remaining shadows and footsteps are found
With no signs of suffering humans around
Faint voices are heard from distant corners
Calling for rescue, to break free the barriers.
The hope, persistence and patience are their only way,
With a promise and hope to help them break away.
There comes a time when the doors of the world open with light
Bringing them optimism and freedom that they achieve with might,
Moments like this are marvelous and rare
That might even take centuries to reappear,
They come to us full of blessings and hope,
For the true human souls who can survive and cope,
The progression continues throughout life and time,
Inspiring the souls to remain strong in every step of life.

P.S.: All the credit goes to my teacher Ms. Rukhsana (Lecturer, ENH Department, BRAC University) for the revision and edits.

My Second Poem about TARC and it's memories!

TARKABAN - OUR SECOND HOME

Written By : Josephine Roy

Felt like a jail in the first place
When we came here,
Never realized it to be so much friendly -------
The whole environment everywhere,
The place we call is ------- ‘TARKABAN’
A place adorned with natural beauty,
A place best to live,
A place to learn.
Time passed by and we realized ;
How much we’ve missed,
How much we’ve liked,
That we don’t wanna say so early ------ ‘GOODBYE’.
Now that, there’s no time left to stay
And we’re all leaving for home,
Feeling like crying,
Cause these moments will be gone.
Never to forget these memories in our lives,
Full of learning, laughters and cries,
Memories of smiling faces everywhere,
Memories that’ll take us back to ------- Savar.
Things we’ve learned,
Things we’ve earned,
Will ever remain treasured forever,
Because we love ‘TARKABAN’ from our hearts.

My very FIRST poem!

VISIONS OF NATURE

The first poem I've written when I was in college. Happy that it was published in the college magazine 'Scribe'. :)

In the open blue sky,
I see the beautiful birds fly.
In the wide green fields,
I see natural beauties revealed.
Within lovely little flowers,
I hear little bees humming.
In the arc of the rainbow,
I see where the colors’ dance begins.
In the tune of songs,
I feel the rhythm of poetry and prose.
In the waterfalls deep in the forest,
I see the heavens above.
At the edge of the sea,
I hear the sound of the waves.
In the wind and raindrops,
I feel the torrent of peace and happiness.
Beside the mountains high,
I see the rivers running by.
It’s the sunset and sunrise,
That creates shade and light in the sky.
All these beautiful creations of God,
Make the earth a peaceful place,
That, we live here with care,
Is my prayer throughout the days.

First Class Reflection on "Use of Technology" class:

Last class was a series of lecture and also a combination of learning to create blog by watching the video. However, I personally thought we missed out understanding some points on the lecture that seemed incomplete. We could have emphasized more on the lecture a bit than wasting time on trying to create Blogger profiles which totally failed. Even though I could not create Blogger post in the last class, I have successfully created it now. Hail technology!
